The on duty officer was responding to a burglary when he was involved in a traffic accident. His weapon was stolen from his holster.
Police have recovered the weapon.

May 29, 2009 (CHICAGO) Rasaan Shannon, 22, of the 9800-block of South Morgan was charged with robbery, disarming an officer and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
