A fire swept through the Hoboken Charter School on the second day of the 2012-13 school year, and flooding from Superstorm Sandy slowed repairs.
All of the kindergarten through 8th grade students who attended classes in the 713 Washington Street building were sent to a temporary school in Jersey City.
The repairs to the school also include some upgrades.
A previously unused basement and 4th floor have been renovated, and the school has a new elevator and sprinkler system.
The work, largely funded through private donations, yielded 40 percent more space.
Hewlett-Packard also donated $425,000 in computer equipment.
