Maday allegedly disarmed investigators Nick Argentine and Joe Fallon then freed himself. He then took off in the car they were using to drive him to court.
Maday is accused of carjacking two women and robbing a Bloomingdale bank before he was captured.
The investigators were suspended and now face administrative charges of conduct unbecoming an investigator.
