Hosted by ABC7's Tanja Babich
CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC 7, Chicago's No. 1 station for news, presented a virtual town hall featuring four of Chicago's most powerful and influential Latina leaders. ABC 7 Eyewitness News anchor/reporter Tanja Babich will moderate this hourlong event, "OUR CHICAGO: VOICES OF THE COMMUNITY," available on abc7chicago.com Thursday, Oct. 14, at 2:00 p.m.
Crain's Chicago Business published a list of "Chicago's Most Powerful Latinos" in 2019. In this week's "Our Chicago: Voices of the Community" town hall, four of the women featured - representing Mexican, Spanish, Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian heritage - shared their stories, personal and professional, along with the challenges and rewards of their respective journeys. Tanja Babich delves into what they've done to become change-makers and learn how their efforts are informed by their culture as they work to strengthen their communities at large. They also detail what they've done to shape business and major nonprofit organizations in Chicago and throughout Illinois, many with national reach, and what they hope their legacy will be.
Guest panelists include the following:
-Gloria Castillo, We Rise Together
-Olga Camargo, Toroso Investments
-Celena Roldán, American Red Cross - Illinois Region
-Andrea Sáenz, Chicago Community Trust
The virtual town hall was also exclusively streamed live on ABC 7's Facebook Live, YouTube, ABC 7's app, and ABC 7's connected TV apps on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV and Roku.
